“This will be a very important series for our viewers. We are delighted to offer these inspiring programs to help unite God’s people in prayer, Bible study, and mission,” says Brad Thorp, Hope Channel president. “Revival and Reformation and Operation Global Rain are key initiatives to engage the church in uplifting our Savior and to prepare ourselves, indeed the world, for His soon return. Small groups and entire congregations should gather together to participate in these landmark programs.”

“We thank the Lord, Hope Channel, and so many (church members) for what has been done so far to give the call to God’s people for our greatest need, Revival and Reformation for the mission of His remnant church,” says Jerry Page, director of the church’s ministerial department.

“The descent of the Holy Spirit upon the church is looked forward to as in the future; but it is the privilege of the church to have it now. Seek for it, pray for it, believe for it. We must have it, and Heaven is waiting to bestow it,” wrote Ellen G. White, co-founder of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the March 19, 1895, edition of the Review and Herald.

Page also encourages church members to participate in the 777 initiative that calls Seventh-day Adventists to pray seven days a week at 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., thus covering the world in constant prayer for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on His people.

In addition, Hope Channel, in collaboration with the Revival and Reformation initiative, will air three one-hour specials each quarter in 2012. Watch this website for details.

Operation Global Rain (OGR) started in 2007 as a grassroots movement of prayer focused upon revival and reformation on a global scale. As a result more than 1800 churches in more than 90 countries participate in an annual global prayer event seeking the outpouring of God's Holy Spirit for the Adventist church. As a result, many people and churches have experienced revival, and many testimonies of people coming back to the fold as a direct result of OGR have been shared.

“The New Testament Church powerfully impacted the world with the good news of the gospel in a single generation. Filled with the Holy Spirit, these New Testament believers shared the present truth message of a crucified and resurrected Lord with hundreds of thousands. In the face of overwhelming obstacles, these praying believers proclaimed the gospel to the ends of the earth. It will happen again and in some places it is happening now. You can be part of something great for God. Revival is about a new experience with Jesus. It is about what He can do in our personal lives, in our marriages, and with our children. Revival leads us from heartfelt prayer to passionate mission.” (From the Operation Global Rain website)

Tips for 10 Days of Prayer
(By Janet Page, associate secretary for prayer, pastoral spouses, and families for the General Conference Ministerial Association)

Ask God to prepare your heart for the 10-day experience.

Ask one or more people to join you, or ask your pastor about making this a church-wide event.

Choose a convenient time to pray together. Set aside one hour each day for united prayer, if possible.

Begin and end your group prayer time with praise and thanksgiving. Choose an applicable psalm to pray through.

Pray short sentence prayers so each person can pray more than once and to allow for the Holy Spirit to impress you how to pray.

Make your time more powerful by spending it in prayer rather than in discussion.

Set aside personal, private time with God in addition to the group prayer times.

Consider some type of fasting, such as from TV, secular music, movies, the Internet, or desserts. Use the extra time to pray and read your Bible. Ask God to reveal Himself to you.

Ask your pastor about promoting the 10 days of prayer at your church by sharing testimonies of how God has worked through united prayer. On both Sabbaths during the 10 days institute a special prayer focus.

Ask God to show you five people to pray for during the 10 days.
