Australia: Programs changing lives

God is touching the hearts of people in Australia through programming on Hope Channel.
“The word is spreading that Hope Channel programming is family-friendly,” says Calvyn Townend, Hope Channel coordinator for the Australian Union Conference.
Townend was recently cleaning the gutters on his roof when his neighbor, Phil, called up to him, “Calvyn, I need your help installing my satellite dish.” “Phil is a family man and represents the new wave of people who are installing Hope Channel,” says Townend. “With 220 new half-hour programs introduced this year, it has made a major impact on the number of installations and viewer support.”
One lady reported that as she was stopped at a traffic light, another car signaled for her to pull over. The driver had seen the Hope Channel sticker in her car window and wanted to know how to subscribe.
“An Indian brother told me how, after more than 20 years of resistance, his wife had been baptized because of Hope Channel programming,” says Townend. “That’s what Hope Channel is all about!”
