Mini Media Centers
What it is: A Mini Media Center is a place where video recordings may be made at minimal cost.
What type of video material can be produced? This depends on the vision and objectives of the individual, group or church that owns it.
What equipment is needed? Equipment could range widely, depending on the level and type of video production required. See examples below:
STARTER LEVEL: A good quality Video Camera with a sturdy tripod, a good quality line / wireless microphone and a DVD recorder /writer would be needed to record talks and sermons, which could be written to DVDs. Simple editing could be done on the DVD writer, or more complex editing on a computer.
In some cases the recordings may need to be sent to a larger Media Center for editing and inclusion in other programs.
ADVANCED LEVEL: Several cameras could simultaneously be used for more complex productions, such as church services, music concerts, interviews and group discussions. Additional equipment could include, audio / video mixers, extra microphones, and special lighting units. Editing may be done via a high powered Mac or PC using a suitable editing software package.
For advice on the latest equipment, please contact your nearest media center who will recommend equipment most compatible for your purpose.
How to use your locally produced video productions:
- Duplicate DVDs for distribution in your city
- Build up a library of DVDs for your church or group
- Offer news content to your national TV stations
- Supply material to your media center for inclusion in their programs
- Supply DVDs in local languages to Low Power TV stations
