What are the benefits?
The benefits of a proper site survey are:
- To specify the most suitable transmitter and antenna configuration
- To reach the optimum number of viewers
- To establishing feasibility of the Studio to Tower link
- Avoiding costly mistakes
What is evaluated?
- The proposed transmitter site
- The proposed studio, if applicable
Who does the evaluation?
A trained Site Evaluator in possession of our LPTV Training Manual, who visits the proposed transmitter and studio sites, and records the required data.
Where such an evaluator is not available, a local technician may be used, working in close consultation with our Technical Support desk for LPTV
What are the objectives?
To collate information about the location of the proposed transmitter, studio and the broadcasting environment.
To avoid the costs of bringing an engineer on to site
To establish the technical feasibility of:
- One or more transmitter sites for a target audience
- Linkage from proposed studio in relation to each transmitter site
To determine, for a selected antenna site and studio:
- Infrastructure needed
- Equipment needed
To prepare a written, sufficiently clear and detailed report to enable factory engineers,
Hope Channel and others to advise on equipment required.
