WALNUT ROAST

Ingredients

 

2 C chopped onions

 

2 C chopped celery

 

3 T olive oil

 

3 T water

 

¾ C chopped walnuts

 

3 C whole-wheat bread cubes

 

½ t sea salt

 

1 ¼ t thyme

 

1 ¼ t basil

 

½ t ground sage

 

¾ C ground pecans or sunflower seed

 

Directions:

 

Sauté these ingredients until clear:

 

2 C chopped onions 3 T olive oil

 

2 C chopped celery 3 T water

 

Pour them into the bowl and add:

 

¾ C chopped walnuts 3 C whole-wheat bread cubes

 

½ t sea salt 1 ¼ t thyme

 

1 ¼ t basil ½ t ground sage

 

¾ C ground pecans or sunflower seed

 

Bake @ 350°F in oiled 9x13 dish for 50-60 min. Cover first 30 min. Uncover until lightly browned.

 

Serve with gravy.
