Lentil Soup

Ingredients

 

4 qts water

 

3 C dry brown lentils

 

1 large diced onion

 

2 bay leaves

 

1 quart peeled tomatoes (chopped or whole)

 

5 t salt

 

½ t cumin seed

 

Directions:

 

In a pot, mix water, dry lentils (check lentils for stones), bay leaves and large diced onion.

 

Cook for 40 min and add the tomatoes, salt and cumin seed.

 

Cook for further 20 – 40 min.
